John Blackmore has won, been short-listed, and long-listed for the CBC Literary Awards Short Fiction and Creative Non-Fiction competitions and the Writers' Union of Canada Short Story and Postcard Story competitions.
His award-winning and nominated stories include Like I was Fire, The White Gorilla, a nation the size of a thimble, The Passage, Big Bear Lake and Train to Buchans.
John has completed a book of poetry "This is Fortune" to be available in 2020 and a mystery novel "The Order of Necessary Darkness."
He has degrees in Physics, Literature and Journalism. Originally from Newfoundland, he lives in Ottawa, Canada with his wife and two daughters.
